Introduction
Managing a construction site is a huge responsibility. Health, safety and legal compliance sit at the very heart of it. That’s why the CITB-accredited Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) is a must-have qualification for site managers across the UK.
At Target Zero, we deliver fully accredited SMSTS online training via live Zoom sessions—giving you the same quality as classroom learning, with the flexibility to join from anywhere.

What Is SMSTS and Why Is It Important?
The SMSTS is part of the CITB Site Safety Plus suite and is recognised across the industry. It equips managers with essential knowledge covering:
- Health and Safety at Work Act and CDM Regulations
- Risk assessments and method statements
- Managing high-risk activities (working at height, scaffolding, excavation, etc.)
- Behavioural safety and leadership
On successful completion, you receive a CITB certificate valid for 5 years—proof that you can lead safely and legally on any UK construction project.
