In construction, every step you take can lead to something bigger. For many workers on site, the question is not just how to do the job better, but how to move forward. That is where SSSTS courses come in. They give you the foundation to move from doing the work to supervising it—without needing to stop everything or go back to college.
This course is not about sitting in a classroom for weeks. It is a focused two day programme that shows you how to take control of safety, lead your team and take your first step into management.
What is the SSSTS course really about?
SSSTS stands for Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme. But at its heart, it is about responsibility.
You learn how to:
- Spot risks before they become accidents
- Communicate clearly with your team
- Understand what the law expects from you
- Lead by example on safety and site standards
- Handle problems the right way
And when you finish, you get a recognised CITB certificate that stays valid for five years.
Why it matters for your future
We meet so many delegates who say the same thing: “I have the experience. I want to move up. But I need that qualification.”
The SSSTS course is your proof that you are ready for more. Once you have it, you are in a stronger position to:
- Apply for site supervisor roles
- Take on more responsibility with confidence
- Earn more by stepping up from general site work
- Build a career rather than just working job to job
We see it every week—delegates who start out nervous, unsure if they are ready, and leave proud, qualified and ready to lead.
It is not just about passing a test
Yes, there is a short exam at the end. But the SSSTS course is more than that. It is about learning in a real, honest way. Our trainers have worked on site. They know what it is like when things go wrong. And they know how to make safety and leadership make sense, not just tick a box.
Learn your way
At Target Zero, we deliver SSSTS courses both in person and online. You can choose what works for you.
- Learn in a proper training centre or from home
- Get involved with group discussions and real site examples
- Ask questions and get clear answers
- Leave feeling ready, not confused
This is training built around you—not the other way around.
