When searching for an SMSTS course, construction professionals often want a provider that is local, accredited, and flexible. The CITB Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) is one of the most important qualifications for site managers, project leaders, and supervisors looking to progress in the construction industry.
At Target Zero Training, we make it easy to access SMSTS courses with both classroom-based and online instructor-led options. Whether you’re in London, Manchester, Birmingham, or anywhere else in the UK, you can secure your place quickly and gain a nationally recognised qualification.

What Is the SMSTS Course?
The SMSTS course is a five-day programme designed to give site managers and supervisors the skills to maintain a safe and compliant workplace. It covers:
- Health and safety law and regulations
- Risk assessments and method statements
- Managing contractors and subcontractors
- Site inductions and toolbox talks
- Effective leadership for safe site management
The qualification is CITB approved, and successful candidates receive a certificate valid for five years. After this, you will need to complete the SMSTS Refresher to maintain your certification.
