Why the SMSTS Refresher Course Matters
The Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) is one of the most recognised health and safety management qualifications in UK construction. To stay compliant, every site manager must keep the certificate valid. That’s where the SMSTS refresher comes in.
At Target Zero Training, we provide a complete SMSTS refresher course that allows managers and supervisors to keep their knowledge current and their sites safe.
How Long Does an SMSTS Certificate Last?
An SMSTS certificate is valid for five years. To maintain your credentials, you need to take an SMSTS renewal course before it expires. If the certificate lapses, you will have to sit the full five-day SMSTS training again.
Booking a CITB SMSTS refresher course early is the simplest way to stay compliant.
What Is Covered in an SMSTS Refresher Course?
Our SMSTS refresher online course and classroom sessions cover the latest legal and best-practice updates, including:
- Recent changes to UK construction health and safety law
- Risk assessment and method statement requirements
- Site set-up and environmental management
- Leadership and behavioural safety techniques
This ensures that even experienced site managers are up to date with the newest CITB standards.
Online or Classroom: Flexible SMSTS Refresher Options
Target Zero makes it easy to fit training around your work schedule:
