In the dynamic world of construction, managing temporary works is a critical responsibility that ensures both safety and project efficiency. The role of a Temporary Works Co-ordinator (TWC) is pivotal in overseeing these aspects, aligning with the standards set out in BS 5975:2019. At Target Zero, we offer comprehensive CITB-accredited training courses designed to equip professionals with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in this role.
Why Temporary Works Co-ordination Matters
Temporary works, such as scaffolding, formwork, and shoring, are integral to construction projects but come with inherent risks. Effective co-ordination ensures these structures are designed, erected, and dismantled safely, preventing accidents and structural failures. The TWC is responsible for implementing a systematic approach to managing these works, emphasizing the '4Cs': communication, co-ordination, co-operation, and competency .
