An SSSTS certificate UK is a crucial qualification for anyone working as a site supervisor in the construction sector.
It is awarded after completing the CITB Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) and is designed to equip supervisors with the knowledge and skills to maintain high standards of health and safety on site.
At Target Zero Training, we deliver CITB-approved SSSTS courses that prepare you to take on leadership responsibilities while ensuring compliance with UK regulations.
Why the SSSTS Certificate Matters
- Compliance with Legal Requirements
The UK construction industry operates under strict health and safety laws. Many principal contractors require supervisors to hold an SSSTS certificate as proof of competence in safety management. - Improved Site Safety
With training focused on hazard awareness, risk assessment, and accident prevention, SSSTS-certified supervisors can identify risks early and take action to prevent incidents. - Professional Recognition
Holding an SSSTS certificate demonstrates your commitment to workplace safety, making you more attractive to employers and opening doors to better career opportunities. - Team Leadership Skills
The course also covers communication, supervision, and leadership, enabling you to manage teams effectively and maintain productivity without compromising safety. - Career Progression
For many, the SSSTS certificate is the first step towards higher qualifications like the SMSTS, giving you a pathway to senior site management roles.
How to Get Your SSSTS Certificate in the UK
To obtain an SSSTS certificate, you must complete a CITB-approved 2-day training course and pass the assessment. Certificates are valid for five years, after which you need to take the SSSTS Refresher to keep your qualification current.
