As the construction sector evolves and safety standards tighten, staying current is no longer optional — it’s essential. At Target Zero, we provide CITB SMSTS Refresher Online Courses to help busy professionals maintain their credentials and sharpen their safety competencies. SMSTS Refresher Online Courses
If your SMSTS qualification is nearing expiry or you simply want to keep your knowledge fresh, here are the top five benefits of enrolling in an SMSTS refresher course in 2025.
1. Maintain Legal Compliance & Valid Certification
Without a current SMSTS ticket or refresher, your qualification may lapse, limiting your ability to act as site manager or supervisor on construction projects. Passing the refresher ensures you continue to meet legal requirements and remain eligible to supervise work safely and legally.
2. Update Knowledge with the Latest Regulations & Best Practices
Safety legislation, guidance, and site management practices evolve continuously. A refresher course helps you:
- Learn about new regulations and changes in health & safety law
- Understand fresh hazard risks and how best to mitigate them
- Review case studies and lessons from recent incidents
- Adopt improved tools, methods, or technology for safer sites
3. Reinforce Confidence & Leadership on Site
Leading a construction site demands confidence — especially when it comes to health, safety, and compliance. A refresher helps you:
- Strengthen your safety leadership role
- Demonstrate competence to clients and inspectors
- Make better decisions under pressure
- Coach your team more effectively
4. Increase Career Prospects & Job Mobility
Employers often look for supervisors and managers with up-to-date safety credentials. By keeping your SMSTS qualification current, you:
- Stay eligible for higher-level roles and contracts that require valid certification
- Stand out from candidates whose certifications have lapsed
- Show commitment to continuing professional development
5. Convenience & Cost-Effectiveness
At Target Zero, our SMSTS refresher courses are designed to fit with your schedule and budget. The refresher is shorter and more affordable than retaking the full course, while also minimising downtime. With online delivery, you can complete it remotely and save valuable time.
